It’s easy for burrs to appear during precise process of aluminum products like aluminum strips. This results from insufficient press shock, lack in mold force and inappropriate mechanical cutting. With clients’ increasing requirements about aluminum strips for sale, more and more deburring methods are springing up as well. Here we make a collection for your reference. There are 13 methods all together, and we will introduce 4 here. The other 9 will be elaborated on in future articles.
1. Manual deburring
This is the most traditional and commonly used method in die-casting factories. Tools include manual or pneumatic files, sandpaper, belt conveyors, grinding heads etc.. Disadvantage of this method include expensive labor cost, low efficiency and difficulty in removing complex cross holes. However, the technical requirements for workers are not very high, and it’s suitable for aluminium alloy die casting with small burr and simple product structure.
2. Deburring of die
The burr removal is carried out by making a die and a punch press. Disadvantages include that it requires a certain cost for the production of stamping dies (rough and fine stamping dies), and it it may also need to make plastic dies. This method is suitable for die casting of aluminum strips with simpler parting surface. The efficiency and deburring effect are better than manual.
3. Grinding and deburring
This kind of deburring includes vibration, sand blasting, drum and so on. At present, it is widely used in die casting plants. The disadvantage is that the removal is not very complete, which may require follow-up manual treatment of residual burrs or other ways to deburr. This method is suitable for small aluminium finstock with large batches.
4. Deburring by freezing
Using cooling to make burrs brittle quickly, and then spraying projectiles to remove burrs, the price of equipment is about 2.3 million. This method is suitable for aluminium strips with small burr wall thickness and small volume.
