Factors affecting the dyeing of coated aluminum coils for roofing

1. For some effects of some aluminum materials such as coated aluminum coils for roofing, usually high-purity aluminum, aluminum-magnesium and aluminum-manganese alloys are anodized, dyeing function is better, which can be dyed into various colors. High silicon or copper content 0.2-0.8mm color coated aluminum coil and aluminum alloys can only be dyed in dark to black monotonous colors.

2. The influence of oxide film quality: the quality of oxide film mainly refers to the thickness, porosity and transparency of the film. If the film has sufficient thickness (10um or more) and porosity and maximum transparency, it can get better dyeing quality.

3. There is also the concentration of the dyeing solution. The relationship between the concentration and the dyeing is: light color, lower concentration, darker color, higher concentration. Usually, the light color is 0.1-0.39g/L. The dyeing color is 1g/L, the dark color is 3-5g/L, and the thick color is 10-15g/L. The concentration is too high, which may cause uneven color or floating color. It is easy to cause during cleaning and sealing treatment. In order to enhance the color fastness, the dyeing time is often extended with a low concentration, so that the dye molecules penetrate deeply into the pores of the oxide film, which is also beneficial to hue and fastness.

4. There are also dyeing liquid temperature, dyeing cold dyeing (room temperature) and thermal dyeing. Cold dyeing time is long, but the uniformity of color tone is easy to control. The heat dyeing time is short, but the color tone is difficult to control. The temperature of the dyeing is generally controlled at 40~60 °C. If the temperature is too high (80-90 °C), the dye molecules are not completely penetrated into the pores of the membrane but are closed, which greatly reduces the color fastness and makes the surface easy hair flower.
