Classification and Application of Embossed Aluminum Coil

The embossed aluminum coil is among secondary categories of the aluminum sheet coil. Basically there are two types of classification methods for the embossed aluminum coil: patterns and alloys.

In spite of diversity of patterns for the embossed aluminum coil, the most frequently spotted ones are only a few, such as 5 bar, diamond, 1 bar (better known as compass shape in China), stucco (orange peel), tear, ball, ripple and so on. Winning great popularity with consumers, these embossed aluminum coil products differs in usages. For example, diamond aluminum plate pieces are more frequently applied in exterior packaging of products and pipelines, while the stucco embossed aluminum sheet in interior walls of fridges.

The other classification method of the embossed aluminum coil is based on alloy types. This method is traditional and basic in the industry. When sending inquiries, buyer like to begin with words like 1050 aluminum coil and 1100 aluminum coil, which are followed by tempers, thicknesses and sizes. Alloys divide embossed aluminum coil in a more specific way, for they differ aluminum rolls in properties that further decide variation in application of the rolls. Regular coils like 1050 and 1100 prove to be cheaper than other alloys, used in conditions requiring little about corrosion resistance like flooring of refrigeration houses and exterior packaging. 5000 series of embossed aluminum coil rolls, on the other hand, are more suitable for wet conditions like shipbuilding and automobile interior walls, for they boast better hardness, corrosion resistance and rust resistance. In addition to 5000, 3000 series of embossed aluminum coil rolls are worth mentioning, too. They have poorer corrosion resistance than 5000 but much better than 1000, mainly used for truck building and refrigeration house flooring.
