Five steps of coated aluminum strip production process

Coated aluminum strip refers to a product that is painted on the surface of an aluminum strip. It can also be called a color coated aluminum strip or a colored aluminum strip. The purpose of coating treatment is to have an aesthetic effect in the fields of construction, decoration, home, etc. What’s more, the coating process and coating thickness are directly related to the product quality and service life of the coated aluminum strip.

The coating process is a key step in the production of colored aluminum strips, directly affecting the final coating quality and product durability. Therefore, the coating process is very strict. With the continuous improvement of coating equipment, the development and utilization of new coatings has made the production of coated aluminum strips more mature and the processing costs have also declined. The coated aluminum strip has thus gained rapid development. So what is the specific process of coating aluminum strips?

The general production process for coil coating has five steps, namely, roll input, cleaning and chemical treatment, painting, curing and finished product output. The process layout and equipment composition vary from case to case, but the basic parts are the same.

First, the raw material volume inputting is the continuous unwinding of the unwinder to ensure the continuous and stable input line of the aluminum strip, and some adopt the cross-rotating beam type winder, and also adopt the double-stage alternate uncoiler before and after, in order to timely supply the paper;

Second, the surface cleaning and chemical treatment, the upper and lower surfaces of the aluminum strip must be cleaned and through chemical pretreatment, in order to ensure that the paint can be firmly attached;

The third is painting, and there are at least two roller coating machines in one production line to ensure the two layers of topcoat and primer are painted;

The fourth is the curing of the paint layer, which means that aluminum strip that has just been painted should be fixed before contacting the next roll surface to avoid adhesion to each other. The output of the finished product is guaranteed to ensure the speed of the production line is synchronized with the transfer of the finished product.

The coated aluminum strip is easy to process and has wide application. It has a wide range of applications in construction, electronic appliances, furniture, solar reflectors and so on. Some of the more complex and rigorous surface coating processes can even guarantee a 30-year warranty.
